On the Topless bus

On the Topless bus

In the series, single parent adventures here’s the next one. Rosie and me are on our way to Signal Hill to enjoy the sunset. The Hop-on Hop-off bus is an excellent way to explore Cape Town and parts of the peninsula. It’s fun, you have awesome views and it is affordable.

You can book tickets online via www.citysightseeing.co.za. In Cape Town there’s a Red & Blue route so we suggest you buy a 2 day ticket and just do it all. You get off at the cable car station and go up Table Mountain. Get off at the V&A Waterfront and take a trip to Robben Island (separate ticket via www.webtickets.co.za) . You can visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (STUNNING!!) and well as Groot Constantia.

We had a bad experiences at the township tour in Hout Bay so we wouldn’t suggest that. The guide was just a bit too full of himself and was only interested in telling us which famous people he had met.  No knowledge whatsoever. We can hook you up with much better township experiences so don’t bother for the Hout Bay one.

Anyway, when you buy the 2 day ticket, a lot of free extras are thrown in, like this evening tour to Signal Hill. A free Canal Cruise and a trip to Groot Constantia ( be aware: you DO pay for your wine tasting, the info is a little bit misleading). Buy your ticket online and you will pay R220 instead of R250 (March 2013).

City tours of Johannesburg have started recently as well. Will def. check it out when I’m there next. Have fun!
